Central Coast Animal Massage Fall 2009 Newsletter

Welcome to our first newsletter.  In our quarterly newsletters we will be sharing local information regarding  animal events and also sharing important news and information on the health of your animal companion.  Let me give you a bit of information about animal massage.

The benefits of animal therapeutic massage are endless!  Massage releases the body's natural pain relievers called endorphins, increases circulation of blood, nutrients, lymph and oxygen to the tissues, promoting healing, while it cleanses the body of its metabolic waste.  Massage affects the Autonomic Nervous System, calming the "fight or flight" response, and reduces the level of harmful stress hormones in the body.  Massage stimulates lymphatic flow, improving tissue drainage and enhancing the immune system, as well as every other system in the body.  If you have ever had a massage you also know just how wonderful, relaxed and light you feel for days following the massage.

I hope that this newsletter shines some light on why animal massage is so necessary to all animals.  Though massage does not take the place of regular veterinary care many vets agree that massage is helpful to animals.

I will be adding links to my website that I feel are of value to pet owners and will only refer rescues, pet sitters, kennels, etc. that I feel are reputable and that truly care for animals.  I will also be including interviews from pet sitters, kennel owners, etc who have something to share with you as pet owners.  Our animals are precious to us and deserve only the best of care.

At the printing of this newsletter it is October 18th and an important event  is fast approaching, it is the Woods Humane Society's Wiggle Waggle event.  Be sure to check the  Woods Humane Society website at www.woodshumanesociety.com for more information.  I will be hosting a booth at this event offering mini canine massages for a small donation which will go to Woods Humane Society.  I will also sponsor a drawing for one free canine massage and one 20% discounted massage.  Don't miss this event!

Howladay Pet Sitting Service will be joining our booth and karen the owner will be offering information on Pet Emergency Kits and will also be offering a drawing for a discounted pet sitting visit.  Come on by our booth for free pet treats too.
